2023 ANNUAL LUNCHEON FOR MEMBERS

AND FRIENDS

     OF AFRIQUE FUTURE FRANCE

On 19 December 2023, Afrique Future France’s traditional charity day was held in Pfastatt in the presence of its founder, Abbé Emmanuel Mbock.  It was the opportunity for the various actors in this humanitarian organisation to assess their record of service over the past year and look to the future.

“For me, it was a day of reunion,” said Abbé Emmanuel. “Pfastatt is a parish that I know well, having been Vicar there, while I studied at Strasbourg University.

I’m delighted with the friendly atmosphere that prevails every year on this day. It’s really moving to be back in the same surroundings and with the same people that I met so many years ago. In an organisation like Afrique Future, it’s always good to get together, talk, commune over a meal and share our daily experiences. It’s very emotional and motivating.

I’m also impressed by the dedication of all the volunteers who, every day, do their part to help us continue the humanitarian work we’ve been doing for over three decades in Cameroon.

Throughout the year, in my work in the field and faced with the many difficulties that arise, I feel supported”.

The volunteers had prepared the room the day before. Rachel donated the proceeds from the sale of her beautiful cards. Daniel and Michel presented the magnificent textile Christmas stars and trees they had made with the help of their wives.

As every year, the excellent meal was provided by Mr Eckert. The guests enjoyed the food and the warm atmosphere. Multi-talented musician Olivier Lidin contributed to its success.

In addition to the pleasure of getting together with friends and introducing new members to the association, Afrique Future France’s annual luncheon raised 3,858.61 euros from the sale of choucroute garnie (sauerkraut with meat), drinks and pastries, Christmas trees and stars, as well as Rachel’s cards and the raffle. As usual, all the proceeds were destined for our projects with the people of Cameroon.

We look forward to seeing you at the next annual luncheon to be held at the same venue in autumn 2024.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION!
